Notice to the RealT community
Recently, the RealT community has been targeted by some malicious people offering fake tokens that are of no value, who may have created false profiles or disguised themselves as RealT support staff asking for personal information. They have been minting “REALTOKEN” tokens that bear the same name as those issued by RealT, and selling those fake tokens on swap.cat (a p2p exchange site).
RealT is committed to the safety of our community and try to do everything we can to protect our members from malicious activities. RealT does not offer private investment or financial advice, but we would like to remind you of some essential safety rules:
- At no time will a member of the team contact you via private message and ask you for confidential information, such as phone number, credit card, private key, seed, pass phrase, code, password or other personal information.
- NEVER disclose the private key, seed, or passphrase of your wallet to anyone under any circumstances.
- If in doubt about a person contacting you or the authenticity of a token, reach out to a RealT customer service representative by going to RealT.co and clicking on the orange chat box in the lower right corner (see image below or just peek in the right hand of your screen):
- If you do not use a list of secure tokens like the one offered on LevinSwap, always check the destination address(es) and token contract(s) on exchanges like swap.cat or on a DEX.
Below ia example of the recent SCAM on swap.cat and the way to verify the legitimacy of tokens offered by RealT Inc. The process is similar for any token, but will vary depending on the way information is presented on a given website.
SOLUTION 1
On swap.cat, the 3rd line of the offer contains an alpha-numeric code positioned between parentheses. This is the address of the token’s smart contract, and it is the most reliable value to use when verifying the authenticity of a token. Click on it to open the block explorer (make sure it is the official explorer and not a fake site!).
Once on the block explorer page, the number of transactions is visible.
This is a first indicator; but it is not a 100% guarantee. To verify further, confirm the address that created the smart contract; which is labeled as “Creator.” This address is always the same for tokens created by RealT. The address for RealT tokens should be 0x190686De2615dC4120F2f21580048CfE2CD97381.
Here you can be sure that the token is a real token issued by RealT.
SOLUTION 2 :
A more versatile solution for various tokens is to check the address of the smart contract. First, check the contract address displayed on the 3rd line of the offer between parentheses. Keep in mind that the location of this address will vary between websites. Verify that this address is the same on the block explorer.

You can confirm that the address matches; but even so, it could still be a fake token. To invesigate further, you need a trusted source to confirm that the address displayed on the site is an official RealT Token.
For most tokens other than RealTokens, you can check them on coingecko.com or on the official token website. However, for RealTokens, there are three reliable ways to check the addresses of smart contracts:
- Go to the Marketplace on realt.co and locate the listing of the property. The most recent properties are directly visible on this page. Older listed properties can be found by clicking the “Previous Properties” button. Click the property to visit its dedicated property page. Once on the property page, on the right side you will see an “ETH” and an “xDai” button. These will open the token contract address in the relevant block explorer. If the address is the same as the one you found on the exchange, then the token is authentic!
- If you have previously purchased the property, another solution is to go to My Account > Portfolio. Here, you will either be able to open the property and check the house contract address, or directly click on “ETH” or “XDAI” to view the contract address in a block explorer.
- Another solution is to copy the address of the contract on the site you are purchasing the token on, like swap.cat. Then, go to https://api.realt.community. The API explanation page allows you to test for the contract address linked to the token address.

To the right of this line, click “Try it out” to activate the “uuid” field.
You can now enter the address of the contract to verify in the “uuid” field.
Click on the “execute” button to verify authenticity.
Once the report is generated in the “response body,” it will show verification that the token is real.
If the contract is a fake token, you will receive a “401 Token not found” response.
The tokens are filtered on the community dashboard through the swap.cat houses; which are the real houses. You can go to dashboard.realt.community for more security.
Always check the contract addresses in all circumstances.
